Antonio Cadena Jr., M.D.
Dr. Antonio “Tony” Cadena is board certified by the American Board of Family Practice. He was born and raised in Del Rio, Texas. He earned his Bachelor of Science with a major in Biology from The University of Texas at San Antonio, Texas, and graduated magna cum laude. He received his Doctorate of Medicine from The University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio. During his residency program, he was the Chief Resident of the Department of Family Practice in UTHSCSA. He also received an Academic Excellence Resident Award.
Dr. Cadena is dedicated in serving the community of Del Rio. Presently, he serves as the Chairman of the Credentialing Committee and EMS Medical Director at the Val Verde Regional Medical Center. He served on the Board of Trustees for the San Felipe Del Rio Consolidated Independent School District from 2002 to 2008 and was President of the Board of Trustees from 2002 to 2006. He devoted his time on the Corporate Board of Directors for Val Verde Regional Medical Center from 2001 to 2010. Also, he has served as a Chief of Staff at Val Verde Regional Medical Center for 4 years. Dr. Cadena holds an active certification as a Board Certified Medical Review Officer (MRO) from The American Association of Medical Review Officers. He is married to Dr. Veronica Cadena and they both have four children together.
